The Gun Trade Association (GTA) is looking into claims that high street banks are refusing to work with legitimate gun dealers. HSBC termed London gun dealer Archie Bell a “financial risk”, overlooking his good credit rating. Mr Bell was informed by staff that his business was not believed to be “a moral company”, instead accusing it of being “in the same league as pornography”.

After this, Mr Bell tried to take his business to other banks, which include NatWest and Metro, but was again refused service. John Batley of the GTA said: “The GTA has been aware of this issue for some while and is actively dealing with various of the major, and other, banks on behalf of our members.”
