MythFieldDressKit_31-001159_std1-hero(1)Gerber, the  knife and tool manufacturer, has announced plans to transfer responsibility for sales and distribution in the UK and Ireland to its parent company Fiskars.

The company  thanked Silva Ltd, its previous distributor, for its cooperation over the last nine years. John Grayson, managing director of Fiskars UK, says the change will yield “significant synergies between Fiskars and Gerber, considering our strong business relationships with a number of leading UK distributors and retailers.”

The new set-up also includes the recent relocation of Fiskars’ regional office to Birmingham, boasting “bespoke display areas and workshops for customer product training”, and a partnership with Kore Ltd, led by Jeremy Price. Kore’s sales team will service most military and outdoor accounts on behalf of Gerber and Fiskars.

“With the new structure in place, I am convinced that we have established an extremely strong platform which has the capacity of propelling the Gerber brand to an entirely new level on the market place,” commented Joachim Colliander, sales director EMEA.

The distribution change will come into effect on 1 July 2015; Gerber says all current accounts will be contacted by Fiskars UK to discuss the transition.
