The UK Game Fair Logo_Colour-WEB copyThe UK Game Fair at Stoneleigh has cemented its position as the front-runner to replace the CLA Game Fair as fieldsports’ premier event, as distributors, retailers and organisations backed the new event. Key trade names include Caesar Guerini, Promatic, Longthorne Guns, Deerhunter and Fiocchi.

Taking place on 22-24 July 2016 at NAEC at Stoneleigh Park, the UK Game Fair is designed to attract the core Game Fair following – both in terms of exhibitors and visitors – and put fieldsports back at the heart of rural events, with a focus on shooting, fishing, working dogs and estate management.

Since it announced its venue and dates on 21 October, the fair has amassed a following of key trade names – including GMK, Viking Arms, Eley Hawk, EJ Churchill, Caesar Guerini, William Powell, Scott Country, RUAG, Deerhunter, Promatic, Fiocchi, and Longthorne Gunmakers.

It has also begun to secure organisational backing, with the British Deer Society and the Scottish Association for Country Sports signing up to attend.

Meanwhile, the first media partner to confirm its attendance is The Countryman’s Weekly, which will sponsor the working dog arenas.

Additionally, the Hand Engravers’ Association, sponsored by Purdey and Holland & Holland, will be attending the UK Game Fair, showcasing the intricate art of engraving.

The UK Game Fair is set to take advantage of the NAEC’s existing countryside-oriented infrastructure to deliver a top-notch country show without the associated costs that contributed to the CLA Game Fair’s downfall.

Stoneleigh already boasts hardstanding car parks, electricity, water and wireless broadband – plus a host of agriculturally themed attractions including gundog rings, an equine arena, a 4×4 track and access to fishing ponds and the River Avon.

In addition, organisers said they were in the final stages of talks with Stoneleigh Abbey to use part of the 12th Century stately home’s 690-acre site, located next door to NAEC at Stoneleigh Park, as part of the UK Game Fair.

Wes Stanton, founder of the UK Game Fair, said: “The response has been phenomenal. Without exhibitors, you don’t have a game fair, so supporting the UK Game Fair’s exhibitors by providing them with the right kind of buying audience is at the top of the priority list. My philosophy for this fair is ‘We lead, others follow’ – and that’s something we embody both in terms of exhibitor announcements and our marketing efforts to ensure those exhibitors have a good show.”

Those marketing efforts include sustained promotion in Sporting Rifle, Airgun Shooter, Clay Shooting and iShoot – plus online through these magazines’ websites and theshootingshow.tv, which has some 40,000 subscribers.

Gun Trade News readers should already have received the first edition of Game Fair News, a new trade publication, which introduced exhibitors to the UK Game Fair’s organisers.
