Safe for another year, the National Wildlife Crime Unit (NWCU) has been guaranteed funding until 31 March 2014. The environment minister Richard Benyon made the announcement, and it is with the assurance of £136,000 funding from the Home Office and Defra that the NWCU can continue to investigate poaching, the trade in rhino horn and other wildlife offences.
