Ammunition manufacturer Eley Ltd is celebrating its 190th anniversary. After being founded by William and Charles Eley in 1828, the company moved to Birmingham, where the company is still located today (in Minworth).

Eley Ltd now specialises in .22LR cartridges, including the flagship Tenex, which is sold in more than 130 countries and used by a number of Olympic competitors. Michael Atkinson, brand manager for Eley Ltd, commented: “190 years is a huge milestone worthy of celebration. Eley has a rich heritage and for nearly two centuries our products have allowed shooters at club, world and Olympic level to realise their potential and win.”

Most recently Eley has helped crown seven new world champions, including Olena Kostevych, Sergey Kamenskiy and Anna Korakaki. Michael continued: “Eley is always striving to improve and innovate. It’s thanks to our highly skilled team and patented new methodologies and techniques, which separate Eley from its competitors.”
