There was an all-American gun on show from Benelli USA: the Super Black Eagle 3, a dedicated wildfowling semi-auto that Benelli’s Josh Ward said was a complete overhaul of its predecessor – so much so that they’d have found it easier to create a whole new model from the ground up! He showed us the black version, though it’s also available in camo. Among the innovations found on the Super Black Eagle 3 are an easy-locking bolt system, third-generation Comfortech stock, softer cheek pad, larger safety and enlarged loading port – and 0.2lb has been shaved off the weight.
