GTN picks a second selection of rimfire rifles that are ideal for pest control or target practice
The Ruger Precision Rifle .22LR is designed with a moulded one-piece chassis. The adjustable buttstock assembly is manufactured with glass-filled nylon providing strength, stiffness and stability. This also features a flat Picatinny bag rider, making it easy to affix a rear monopod.
The precision rimfire stock features a 15” free-float handguard made of hard black anodized aluminum. Magpul M-LOK slots on all four sides improve scope clearance and easy mounting of M-LOK-compatible rails and accessories. The 18” 1137 alloy steel barrel creates ultra precise rifling for excellent accuracy.
Remington Model 597
The Model 597 is an auto-loading rimfire rifle. It has a proprietary bolt-guidance system, which uses twin tool-steel guide rails that Remington say give better stability, feeding reliability and out-of-the-box accuracy.
The bolt has a last-shot ‘hold open’ feature for added safety. The gun has nickel-Teflon plating on its hammer and sear and a rigid barrel attachment clamp. Its receivers are grooved for standard rimfire mounts and drilled for Weaver-style bases.
The patented ‘staggered-stack’ detachable magazine has a 10-shot capacity. This version has a 16.5″ heavy contour barrel and a synthetic stock.
The Tikka T1X rimfire rifle is designed to handle a wide range of shooting tasks. Its unique barrel has a cross-over profile, which offers you the benefits and stability of a heavier barrel without noticeably increasing the overall weight.
The quality and craftsmanship means the T1X performs perfectly at the range and in rough terrain. Available in .22LR and .17 HMR, it’s got a synthetic 10-round magazine, stainless steel bolt, and two barrel length options (20″ and 16″). It’s threaded for a moderator and topped with an 11″ rail.
The stock, meanwhile, is the same one used on the centrefire T3X – which means the T1X barrelled action can be dropped into any aftermarket stock that accepts a T3X, and will still work perfectly.
Anschütz’s proven Biathlon straight pull action with repeating device is now available in its 1727F hunting rifle. This action in combination with the match two-stage trigger allows very fast repeating, which results in important seconds for hunting success.
The straight pull repeater action can easily be operated with the index finger to open it for reloading. The action is closed again with the thumb. Available in .17 HMR or .22LR, in a walnut German stock, 22″ barrel. A left-handed option is also available.
Sabatti Saphire SX
The Saphire is the latest hunting rifle to come out of Sabatti’s factory. It features Multi-Radial Rifling (MRR) giving a higher bullet speed, less barrel wear and improved grouping. It features a one-peice action, threaded for 1/2″UNF with thread protector, and has a two-position safety.
The rifle has a three-lug bolt that gives a reduced lift angle of 60 degrees with feed from a three-shot, single column detachable magazine. It’s a lot slicker than previous models and is available in three stock options: synthetic sporter, synthetic thumbhole and grade four walnut.
