Triumphant comeback for trade show after two-year absence due to Covid restrictions.

It’s the news the trade had been hoping for. Giving another clear signal that trading conditions are returning to normal, the Great British Shooting Show (BSS) has announced it will be back next year at the NEC in Birmingham.

The show will run from 18-20 February 2022 and will revert to the tried-and-trusted formula of trade stands and a public audience. Tickets are on sale now from shootingshow.co.uk and there is already a promising line-up of exhibitors, with big names such as Browning, RUAG Ammotec, Leica, Swarovski Optik, Umarex, Westley Richards and Scott Country having signed up—and plenty more sure to follow.

“I am delighted that the BSS will be returning in February,” GMK’s MD Karl Waktare told GTN. “It is always a good opportunity to show new products and get direct feedback from our end-users. I always enjoy the event and positive buzz that surrounds it.”

The BSS returns after a 24-month hiatus due to COVID-19. Last year’s show was postponed then cancelled, with some speculating about whether it would ever be on again. But after the clear success of the Game Fair this year, it is now clearly possible to put on major events again.

“I’ve really missed the buzz and excitement of the British Shooting Show,” said Simon West of the Gun Trade Association. “There’s something very special about having so many of the shooting family under one roof over three days. Completely exhausting but utterly worth every minute. See you there.”

Highlighting the broad appeal of the show, Vintage Guns MD Diggory Hadoke said: “There are few events that bring the trade together with a shooting-specific public. The British Shooting Show has the potential to become the UK’s IWA or SHOT Show. It deserves our support. I’ll be going.”
