A campaign is underway to help feed 100,000 people in need with a warming, game-based, protein-rich meals, through The Country Food Trust.

Food insecurity is still on the rise as the cost of living crisis bites for a second winter. With food banks now outnumbering McDonald’s outlets, demand is up 100%, while donations are reportedly down by 70%.

We all know what a wonderful food source game is, and winter is a time when those in food poverty need this quality protein the most. Along with being the most expensive food group, it is also a time when it is in its shortest supply, so we are all in an incredibly fortunate position where we can help.

Help support people in food poverty by donating today

The Country Food Trust exists to get venison, pheasant and partridge made into single ready-meal pouches that aren’t even required to be refrigerated. The charity produces some really lovely meals by working closely with game dealers and their manufacturer to create a venison bolognese, a pheasant casserole, and a partridge curry, amongst other dishes, and distributes them to food banks, food charities and many other locations across the U.K.

The Country Food Trust helps those who shoot to provide constructive and meaningful support to those in food poverty. The charity has now provided over 3 million game-based meals to those who need them most, since its inception in 2016.

Please give what you feel comfortable doing so and please also forward to anyone you think would be interested. If a business you are involved in would like to throw its weight behind the appeal, please consider becoming a supporter of the charity.

Thank you for your support, the Country Food Trust’s incredible progress and impact is largely down to the shooting community and is something we can all be very proud of.
