Gun Trade News is delighted to hear that a senior member of the Scottish Government has agreed that the exclusion of the fieldsports industry from a government handout designed to soften the blow of coronavirus is wrong.
Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Tourism, Fergus Ewing MSP, made clear that sporting businesses had been ‘inadvertently excluded’ from much-needed support to contend with the pandemic.

He reassured representatives of the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and the Scottish Country Sports Tourism Group (SCSTG) yesterday, that details of the appropriate grants will be distributed to fieldsports organisations in due course to be shared with sporting businesses in need.
