Winner Geoff Girling was awarded the brand new Black Grouse trophy created by sculptor Simon Gudgeon, pictured. The WPA raised vital funds for their research into preserving Britain’s iconic black grouse, and their work aims to determine whether habitat loss and predation are its only threats.

Sculptor Simon Gudgeon will  contribute a portion of the profits from the sale of 50 identical trophy pieces, each valued at £3,750, to WPA black grouse research.

The charity shoot took place at Acorn Shooting Ground on 2 May, with another scheduled in September at Auchterhouse Country Sports in Angus.
