Firearms collectors could buy a real piece of British history this December, as Sir Winston Churchill’s 7.65mm Webley & Scott pistol goes up for auction at Bonhams.
Carried by Churchill during World War Two, the Webley & Scott pistol was one of a number of firearms privately owned by the prime minister. The pistol is offered with two letters certifying its provenance, signed by Churchill’s grandson, Winston Spencer-Churchill MP.
The lot is estimated to fetch between £2,000 and £3,000 at Bonhams sporting guns sale on 2 December in Knightsbridge.
Patrick Hawes, head of the sporting guns department at Bonhams, said: “This weapon is a remarkable link to Churchill’s war years.”
For more information on this and other lots in the December sale, visit Bonhams official website.
The irony, Churchill an outstanding British politician who fought for our freedom, and we the British people cannot own a piece of what he fought for.
Modern day politicians and the left should hold their heads in shame.
