Field sports businesses in Scotland are being specifically denied help in the Scottish government’s handouts.

The coronavirus fund, which is being administered across the UK, offers up to £10,000 in grants to small businesses affected by the pandemic. But on Scottish application forms there is a list of exempted businesses which may not apply for funds.

These include; ‘Deer Forest’, ‘Fishing Hut’, ‘Gallop’, ‘Game Larder’, ‘Pigeon Loft’, and ‘Shootings’.

Countryside organisation BASC reports hearing from many shooting businesses in Scotland that they are being denied help, including a shooting business in Aberdeenshire and a sporting agency in Perthshire.
