Success for The Country Girls UK as they grow to 200 members within 6 months of launching.

Since 2018, The Country Girls UK have been encouraging more women into country pursuits through their inclusive simulated and game shooting events all across the UK. However, it wasn’t until the first lockdown hit that founder, 23-year-old Tania Coxon from the North East of England decided to take the community to the next level.

Originally inspired to create a community to encourage more women into shooting through her Instagram accounts stories, she set up a handful of shoots and WhatsApp groups as a way of bringing together many women who were intrigued about getting into shooting and meeting more women to shoot with.

The community was so well received that after travelling plans changed for Tania due to coronavirus she set about the next stages in her plan. Throughout summer 2020 Tania juggled long hours on the combine with drafting and writing for the new Country Girls UK website and organising a fantastic season of simulated and game events catering for experienced shots right down to novices and women who had never even picked up a gun before.

The Country Girls UK website (www.thecountrygirlsuk.com) launched in November 2020 and with it a full calendar of events, online community and exclusive clothing range. Even during the various lockdowns of the pandemic, the successes of The Country Girls UK and its special community have gone from strength to strength! So much so that the CGUK team has grown to include a Virtual Assistant, Demonstration Host and SEO specialist with plans to take the team into double figures in the next couple of months!

Despite having to cancel the majority of their game days and with the shooting season coming to an early end due to the coronavirus, The Country Girls UK still produce sell out events, particularly beginners’ days. Also to be released are their game days, which go live to members on 4th June.

The Country Girls UK team are also looking into different disciplines too, with dog trialling and skeet events currently being organised. The Country Girls UK community has hit 200 members within 6 months of launching and are continuing to attract women from all over the British Isles. This just shows what a hunger there is for women to get into shooting and country pursuits.

The pandemic affected us all in many different ways, but most of all feelings of isolation and loneliness. The CGUK community aids to create support and friendships among the members. The exclusive members network is a hive of activity with daily posts, articles, virtual events, support and advice for all abilities. The network is made up of women from different backgrounds, occupations, lifestyles and ages.

A diverse and inquisitive bunch who are eager to learn, increase their confidence, skills, make new friends and have a really good time! New members are welcomed into the group on a regular basis and are eagerly encouraged to get involved with the various sporting and virtual events the team have planned.

In spite of the pandemic, lockdowns and restrictions, it’s full steam ahead for Tania and The Country Girls UK team as they organise more events, covering more of the British Isles and attracting more ladies to their country community. Their first upcoming residential takes place at the stunning Ashbrooke House in Northern Ireland in June, their first charity event take place at Doveridge Shooting School on 3 rd July and they are set to exhibit for the first time at The Game Fair this year at Ragley Hall.

All we can say for The Country Girls UK is to expect exciting things from this community in the future! If you’d like to get involved or simply see what the girls are up to give them a follow on their social media platforms or drop them an email – info@thecountrygirlsuk.com.
