MTC Prismatic ‘Atom’

MTC extended its innovative Prismatic range with its new super-wide-angle 10×30 ‘Atom’, debuting at the Northern Shooting Show back in May.

The Atom offers a wider field of view than a conventional 10x magnification scope. It harnesses detailed sight picture courtesy of ultra-short eye relief and a concertina rubber eyecup, making it particularly suitable for low-recoil rimfires and air rifles.

The Atom measures 122mm from the 30mm objective to the eyepiece – the squat 10×30 is complemented with a quick-focus eyepiece and a sidewheel parallax adjustment to eliminate aiming errors at closer ranges, with adjustment down to 10 yards. The Atom’s SCB2 multi-stadia reticle can also be eliminated to one of 10 brightness settings.

An objective lens housing has been designed to allow the fitting of many after-market night vision day scope adaptors, allowing the Atom to shoot around the clock.

The ‘Atom’ package is scheduled to hit shelves this month.

Tahr Ultralite

The new Tahr Ultralite from Swazi is described as the ultimate lightweight shell jacket, weighing in at a mere 484 grams (17 ounces) yet still capable of repelling rain and wind.

The garment underwent rigorous field tests in some of the harshest of environments worldwide, from New Zealand’s Southern Alps to Alaska’s Kodiak Island and the Himalayas.

Made from Swazi’s proprietary AEGIS® strata fabric, which incorporates a mechanical stretch, if this jacket gets snagged on a branch it has more give, making it more tear-resistant.

Plus the added benefit of being able to be rolled up tightly into its own hood makes it compact and lightweight for travelling.

Its hood is based on the Swazi’s award-winning Tahr XP, which provides amazing peripheral vision. It also includes all-new cord stoppers, to keep them out of the way so there’s no risk of them getting caught.

With two hand-warmer chest pockets and elasticated cuffs, this jacket is set up to keep hunters as protected from the elements as possible.

The jacket’s longer and heavy weight tail features an elasticated shock cord, so there is no chance of getting a soggy bum, and in extreme conditions the wearer can pull in the bottom of the jacket for added protection.

Available from S to 3XL in Sage Green and Alpine Stone.
