Our regular roundup of new shooting products destined to hit the shelves soon, and this month we have a bumper set!

Savage 110 Ultralite

Savage 110 Ultralite

First in our list of new shooting products is from American firearms manufacturer, Savage, who have launched an expertly engineered alternative to heavy, awkward hunting rifles: the new 110 Ultralite.

Weighing in at no more than 6 lb (2.72 kg) depending on calibre, the new 110 Ultralite maximises performance and fit while minimising weight. Designed not to be a burden, no matter what your hunt brings in terms of elevation or adverse weather, it boasts the same high level of performance you’d expect from any factory blueprinted Savage 110 action.

The Ultralite owes its low weight to a number of ingenious design features, including a carbon-fibre wrapped stainless steel barrel and melonite treated, skeletonised receiver.

The rifle’s subtle grey synthetic stock comes equipped with Savage’s AccuFit™ technology with adjustable length-of-pull and comb height to provide hunters with optimum fit and therefore optimised performance.

Further features include adjustable Accutrigger, a detachable box magazine, a spiral fluted bolt and a drilled and tapped receiver (8-40).

Rigby Big Game Tsavo rifles

Rigby Big Game Tsavo rifles

London gunmaker John Rigby & Co. has announced a new series of limited edition rifles, called the “Tsavo”, modelled on the firm’s phenomenally successful bolt-action Big Game, and that is second on our list of new shooting products.

Following hot on the heels of the exceptionally popular “Mopani” special edition series—which sold out within a week of releasing—the Tsavo commemorates two of the most feared man-eating lions of the 19th century, who terrorised the builders of the Kenya to Uganda railway in 1898.

Limited to a run of 12, each rifle bears its unique series number in gold on the floor plate, along with detailed engraving of the infamous pair of lions. Stocked with specially selected grade eight Turkish walnut, the Tsavo’s looks and durability is further enhanced by Rigby’s London Best Oil finish and leather covered recoil pad.

Built around the magnum Mauser M98 double square bridge action in .375 calibre, the rifles benefit from all the features that define Rigby’s multi award-winning Big Game range.

Each Tsavo is supplied with Rigby’s cleaning accessories in an exclusive leather case, styled to capture the intrepid spirit of the late Victorian era.

Schmidt & Bender Single Turn II-Ballistic

Schmidt & Bender Single Turn II-Ballistic

The 3-21×50 Exos and a wide range of PM II products can now be ordered or upgraded with the new Single Turn II-Ballistic (ST II-B). The ST II-B is the fastest, most flexible and most precise bullet drop compensation (BDC) on the market. It enables the shooter to calibrate the turret to the ballistic of the rifle and to stay on target in any situation.

The ST II-B is the extended version of the Single Turn II (ST II) turret. With the help of six, clearly visible position indicators (1–6), the operator can easily set-up their own calibrated turret according to the ballistic of the rifle. The position indicator can be placed at any position on the turret according to the ballistic coefficient.

An unique advantage: it is also possible to use an interchangeable bullet-compensating turret cap which matches the modified ballistic of the rifle. This is the case when using different types of ammunition, interchangeable barrels or shooting with nightvision or a silencer.

The position indicators can be individually adjusted to any distance, such as 100 to 600 m/yards. They can be moved on the outside of the turret and fixed at any position. The quantity of position indicators used can be freely selected. Additional position indicators can be purchased at any time.

A Mode Lever locks or unlocks the turret. A visual indicator below the turret indicates the ‘locked’ position with the color red and the ‘unlocked’ position with the color green. The ST II-B turret gives the user the fastest and most precise turret dialing solution and allows to stay on the target in any situation.
